
Zonta International is a global organization of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy.
Founded in 1919 in Buffalo,
New York, Zonta takes its name from the Lakota Sioux word meaning "honest and
trustworthy". Zontians volunteer their time, talents, and energy to local and
international service projects designed to advance the
status of women.
The Zonta Club of Chicago Loop was chartered on March 1st, 1925. Its members are actively committed to the club, attending monthly meetings and participating in local projects and fundraising activities. Through "The Power of One". every Zontian is called upon to be responsive to the needs of those less fortunate and through our actions create opportunities for women to improve their economic and professional status.
